Let's take a step back and try to appreciate all the things that make being an Astros fan great. A lot of times I think we all get wrapped up in the bumbling decisions of McLane, the inconsistency of Wandy or the dearth of farm system talent. Here's what I have, feel free to comment with your opinions and/or things you're thankful for in baseball/life.
Now with a DyingQuail edit/update for Turkey Day

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone. Eat turkey, fall asleep in your chair, and maybe when you wake up, we'll have signed Ben Sheets...

More World Series?
I hate to break it to you, but in the last century the tally for WS appearched is 7-1 Cubs. Last HALF century, you have a point, since the Cubbies last went in 1945.
Im thankful for Oswalt shutting the Card down, the game after we all had our guts ripped out.

I'm thanksful for
Ed “Never Surrender” Wade – I didn’t agree with his trades back in July/August, but they worked out. And it was far more entertaining to watch the Stros make a last, desperate run to the playoffs than a firesale and rebuilding.
Bill Brown and JD – two sportcasters I actually enjoy listening to.
Tal’s Hill – because listening to Cards/Cubs fans complain about the damn thing is hilarious.
JdJO – for that bedside interview with Carlos Lee after he broke his pinkie.
Carlos Beltran – for giving me an opposing player to actively hate on. Still fun to boo after all these years.

I am thankful for
The wonderful soapbox SBN has provided
You guys, without whom I’d just be bitching about/celebrating the Astros with…I dont’ know who.
JD and Bill – because they used at least twice this season VORP, talk about pitch/fx studies, and I love JD’s hipster music references.
the Rays – for proving that you can win baseball games on a budget, if you’re smart, in the post Moneyball Era.
Lance Berkman – I really do just have a man crush on him
Jake Peavy and Roy Oswalt – who’s hunting expeditions and unrequited attempts to become teammates could inspire many a Broke Back reference, but because they’re masters of their craft, get a pass.
Baseball in general.
The fact that I own a signed Tony Eusebio rookie card.
Bobby Heck and Ed Wade – for convincing Drayton to spend money on draft picks.

Happy Thanksgiving Day, everybody.
Have plenty of Turkey on this turkey day….and hope that the Astros don’t pick up any turkeys in the off season. :)
