Hope I can help the ball club."
In ten days, minor league pitchers and catchers will report to Kissimmee, Florida (March 6). The back fields at the Osceola County Baseball Complex will be full of over 100 players hoping to make it to the next level or hoping to just play another season of baseball in 2009.
For the last two seasons, I have made it my goal to dissect the entity that I call Farmstros, the Astros farm system. The results of this dissection have developed into the blog farmstros.blogspot.com, which was stumbled onto by the administrators of The Crawfish Boxes. I was flattered to be approached by those same administrators about the possibility of being a contributor to TCB, with a focus on the Farmstros.

To introduce Farmstros to TCB, I plan to begin Wednesday and lead up to the March 6 reporting date with a few questions about the upcoming minor league season. The goal of the questions is to provide fans of the Astros some points of interest to look for during the 2009 season, making it easier and more enjoyable to follow the players who may be at Minute Maid Park a few years from now.
I look forward to being a part of THE CRAWFISH BOXES community this season.
"I just want to give it my best shot, and the good Lord willing, things will work out."

Welcome Aboard!
Glad to have a good source for info on the Astros farm puzzle. I just hope that there are some positive things to report about. Sorry to seem so negative, but I just don’t see mutch to be exited about in the minors, at least for the next couple of years. Prove me wrong please.
