Yea for Koby (and for the others)
It is so exciting to read these Farmstros reports

With Towles and Castro more highly ranked, we sometimes forget about Koby. Even if Lancaster is a hitter’s park, those are some impressive numbers for Koby. A 7 RBI game is impressive no matter where you play.

The 7 RBI's is impressive for two reasons
1) It’s amazing that he drove in 7
2) It’s even better that he had that many men on base to drive in.

Polin Trinidad
Is probably the guy up there whose line impresses me the most for this week, just because I’m tantalized by those three guys in AAA.

four guys in RR...
Add Paulino to the impressive rotation.

Disappointing Round Rock
After reading this thread I expectantly looked at the Round Rock standings. They are terrible. Last place with a 39-51 record. 3-9 in month of July. Ugh
Next I’ll sneak a peek at the Corpus Christi Hooks (My personal unsubstantiated theory is you can judge the quality of the following year’s major league team by how its AA affiliate performs this year)

The Round Rock pitching is very good…5th best ERA in the Pacific Coast League. But Round Rock’s hitting is the worst…with the worst OPS (16th) in the PCL. One problem with looking at W/L record for minor league teams is that a horrible offense can conceal good pitching, or vice versa.
The Corpus Christi team is kinda the opposite. The Hooks are No. 2 in the Texas League in HRs, but the Hooks’ pitching is dead last. You can go through the Astros high A and A teams and see similar differences in the hitting / pitching.

that's a good point, clack
Now that Trinidad has been called up to AAA, the Hooks pitching is even worse. Chia-jen Lo, Brad James, Sergio Perez? Hopefully, some of the Lexington guys will skip to AA in 2010 so the folks at Whataburger Field can see some good arms next year.

Ugh Corpus Christi Hooks
Hooks are early in the second half of the season with a losing record (7-11) but it’s early yet. However according to a Texas League Midseasn Report they had a bad first half. Here’s how the report on the Hooks begins:
The Hooks had a tough first half, finishing last in the first half division standings. Corpus Christ had the worst ERA in the league.
