Jonathan Gaston has homered two more times in Lancaster's game this afternoon. That gives him a minor league leading 27 HR for the season. He also has five home runs, three walks, one K and seven RBI in his last nine plate appearances. I am pretty sure that Jeff Bagwell has been watching the JetHawks during this span. The game is still going on at 3:03 Central time. Gaston should have at least one more at bat if you are where you can listen.

Similar to Bagwell's? How?

Maybe that wide fixed stance
Not as deep as Bagwell’s
and there is that lefty -righty difference

What the heck is Gaston still doing in Lancaster. He needs to be in Corpus Christi with the Hooks. Would be one heck of an outfield. Collin DeLome, Jonathan Gaston and Andrew Locke. Mitch Einertson is on the mix too. But I dont know what it is gonna take to get Gaston to the Hooks lineup. He is the reinging California League All-Star MVP. IS kicking butt with 27 homeruns. Four in the last two games alone. The Astros need to wake up and move Gaston up to AA-Ball now.

Even though i'm excited
Isn’t Lancaster sort of a hitters park, and part of the reason why management isn’t ready to move up the pitchers from Lexington?
Either way it’s nice to see this kind of quality in the minor league system, and just another positive from the 2008 draft.

Yes, Lancaster is a hitters park but so is much of the California League. But what Gaston is doing is amazing. He is showing how much he is wanting to make the Astros big club soon.
