Bud Norris can induce a ground ball double play when no runners are on base.
MLB lowered the pitching mound in STL today to level the playing field for the Cardinals. Bud Norris still pitched a shutout.
Today's game was supposed to be a night game, but Bud Norris sped up the Earth's revelation around the sun so his first big league win could be in a day game.
Bud Norris proved that man > The Machine.
If you combine Bud Norris' VORP, ERA+ and WAR, then divide by the amount of weight he can bench press, you'll have the meaning of life.
Bud Norris climbed into a Jose Valverde suit today and collected the save himself. Out of charity, he gave the credit to Jose.
Losing streak over.

same stuff as the endless beavis and butthead talk when they play the Brewers
It seems like a lot of the long time regulars and the people who write on the site don’t participate in the gamethreads or at least not much.
I only saw an inning or so of Norris. I sure wouldn’t go into a game with expectations of a victory. Blogs, forums, radio, TV, even the team itself have talked about how poorly they do against rookies when they see them for the first time. The Tigers guy who was hit hard by the Astros IIRC handled the Brewers.

it's that
quantity/quality relationship that Marx talked about.

The test of time
As good as Norris did today (overlooking walks), the true test comes after teams get scouting reports on him and see him in action a time or time or two. Of course if Astros can win while the other teams adjust to him (and him to their adjustments), that in itself isa positive.
His slider will send many batters walking back to the dugout bat in hand.

Hey Joe, I think you're on to a strategy:

We just keep on bringing up rookies
Once around the league, then send them down afor a replacement, so no one gets a book on them — it could work!!

Teams have done it in September
and it carried them to the World Series ( I’m sure some tried and and the kid got crushed)

Hey,
Corey Hart had to have his appendix taken out. Wasn’t just dehydration this time.

I cannot believe none of us wrote this in today's game thread:
Hey St Louis, this Bud’s for you!
Joe in Birmingham - August 2, 2009
don't worry
JdJO used it in his Chron.com story.
I threw up a little when I read it.
Only_A_Lad - August 2, 2009
Until JJO’s game story, I had forgotten that Norris got ihs nickname when he tried to order a Budweiser at age 3.

To say that would have been
Busch!
