Don't worry, there's not one story linked below that actually has anything today with the remainder of this painful, painful season:
- "He was a little more sore after his last couple of starts and took a little longer to loosen up after his last couple of starts..."

Wade’s quote about Norris’ increased arm soreness was what I was afraid was behind the shut down.

Yeah, if he was physically feeling it
Definitely a good idea.

Three votes for Justice?
And none for Levine? Are these people reading the right website?
Only_A_Lad - September 26, 2009
I'm confused by Justice's results
There must be lurkers who never comment who are now voting because there’s rarely much love for Justice.

Yeah, I don't get it
His opinion changes daily based on whatever he thinks will garner the most attention at the moment.
Is Footer even a beat writer anymore? Doesn’t she have some other front office position?

Footer and Justice are legit
Alyson Footer does not write as much as she once did, which is a shame since she was the most accurate and reliable source out there (which is why she got my vote) .
Here’s what she has written lately:

Richard Justice is the main Chronicle sportswriter. Sometimes insightful. Sometimes too flippant or rushed. But you got to read him.
Everyone has their likes and dislikes I guess. I for one do not accept anything JJO writes on face value. He misinterprets so much and gets his basic facts wrong so often I don’t think he deserves to have a job sportswriting (plus his writing style reminds me of a high school writer). But two people voted JJO as their main man in the poll. Different strokes for different folks.
I like Chip Bailey too and he is not even on the list.
I like MacTaggart too and he has only one vote so far.
Levine is tied with Justice in the votes (at this time) – He has written some interesting columns, but I consider him a secondary source after getting my main reports elsewhere.

KGB Brain Farts Commercial (non-baseball related)
During Texas-UTEP Halftime they played this commercial.

I couldn’t believe Fox Sports let that on TV (or that KGB approved making it in the first place)
But it is funny

frankly I didn't see Levine on the list when I voted.
I don’t consider Levine a beat writer really, but I usually like his analyses the best. So, I voted for Justice. Of the remaining writers listed, Justice is the smartest and, as we see on this blog, his stuff gets quoted more often and provokes more comments. I don’t really care much for McTaggert. Footer now works for the Company, and can’t be considered a beat reporter. And, JJO is just not very good. He is far too emotional, and often says stupid stuff. Although I frequently disagree with Justice and criticize what he writes, I vote for him on the process of elimination.

"who's your go to beat writer"
Even though Alyson has moved up in the world (some type of Head Media Relations position) she is still engaging and if i were to have a question or concern all I have to do is hit her up on Twitter, and there’s a very good chance she’ll respond. She also still does a regular Q&A on her blog.
I’ve attempted to get responses from McTaggert but I’ve never received one. Justice is a shock writer, JJO is a TMZ writer, Levine is a good source but seems to have minor role at this point, and Chip Bailey is a blogger just like DQ, HLP, clack, farmstros, etc…
Timothy De Block - September 28, 2009
I know Chip Bailey is just a blogger, and maybe I’m just a Crawfish Boxes homer, but I don’t quite think he’s in the same league as DQ, HLP, clack, farmstros, etc…
Examples: He still worries about Wandy “returning to 2006-2008 form” and appears to consider 2009 Wandy’s first good year. This completely ignores that he actually pitched really well in 2008 and showed steady progression from 2006 onward. His 3.54 ERA from 2008 is still quite valuable. But I’ve beaten that horse too many times already.
AstroAndy - September 28, 2009
yeah, I saw that bog topic from Chip Bailey. Based on some of his past blogs, he also considers pitcher’s win/loss records to be a good indicator of a pitcher’s performance. That may be part of his thinking about Wandy’s previous seasons.
clack - September 28, 2009
I agree
the Crawfish bloggers are the A+ bloggers, Chip’s more of a C- type of blogger.
Timothy De Block - September 30, 2009
I always liked Alyson Footer
Richard Justice can be a bit much for me at times.
