Before the start last night, Mills told Stephen Goff that he intends to give Wallace more starts in the final stretch of games. Mills says he will try to do some mixing and matching of players as the seasons ends so that the players will feel like there is a lot of competition at the positions as they go to spring training.
I haven’t looked up Milwood’s career stats vs. the Astros, but it seems like he usually stymies the Astros. I recall some sterling games by him when he wasn’t otherwise having a good season.
I think I remember something about that kid, who is from Austin. If my recollection is right, I happened to be at lunch with one of his relatives shortly after he was drafted. The relative is a lawyer and was helping with his negotiations.
Since I’ve been focusing on the Texans’ game for the last two minutes, I lost track of the Astros’ score. Now I see that the Astros are losing 11-1. Is this a game we can put in Bogusevic as a pitcher?
That’s not too surprising. The movie tries to appeal to the broad swath of the movie-going public, many of whom are not baseball fans or may know nothing about baseball. It’s not surprising that there would be some inaccuracies, short cuts, dramatizations, etc. in the story telling. That will be noticed by baseball people, but not the public. I heard Art Howe say that he thought it would be like a documentary. That is a very unrealistic expectation.
an easy-going player’s manager makes for a boring movie. The movie in it’s first iteration was definitely moving towards a documentary type of movie, but that’s what got it dropped by Sony. They didn’t want a documentary movie, because a baseball documentary is not something most in the general public would care to see.
Im so excited!! My grandpa is a huge Cards fan, and him and my mom tried to raise me as a Cards fan, theyre both from St. Louis area. My mom is an Astros fan now.
I just read a Cardinals fan posting something like, “The Cardinals get to play a minor league team for the three most important games of their season.”
The Braves will face Oswalt, Lee, and Hamels. Cards’ fan say that facing the Astros is like leading instead of trailing for the wild card.
I will admit though, it was kinda fun seeing if Pendleton could keep giving up homer after homer. I wanted them to give up at least 20 runs. Another note on Pendleton, he kinda reminds me of Tim Byrdak. Remember the facial hair his last outing? And Juan Freaking Abreu just keeps dominating. Too bad I didn’t stick around for the whole game to watch him pitch. Oh, and it was fan appreciation day…
Guess everyone is watching the hand egg
I almost can’t believe Mills is sitting Wallace today after his HR last night.
I’ve got the Texans on and I’m writing a TCB piece for tomorrow.

He’s getting himself behind in the count chasing a pitch he doesn’t seem to be able to keep fair.

It always seems extra costly when the fielder turns down the easy out for a more difficult out and it blows up in his face.
