Jay leads off w/ an infield single.

First two guys on with singles.

Bravos up 3-1 on the Sillies.

Michael Bourn in Braves game

sinfgled his first two at bats; stole second both times; tried to steal third ; was called out on a close, highly disputed call .

Bad start for Jimmy Paredes

Two singles his way to start the game

Paredes looks rusty at 3B.

Tried to slide and nab that bouncer, and whiffed. Two on for Pujols.

And right away, you can tell the difference defensively in LF.

J.D. knows to just play the ball off of the scoreboard.

He should be better

He’s played it enough

Pujols hitting tonight

Singled off left field wall

Run scored

Cardinals ahead 1-0 in the top of the first

Myers getting smoked tonight.

Got something in your throat, Myers?

That’s 4 in a row now…

RBI single Lance Berkman

Still no outs

This is about as bad a start as we could have seen.

3-0 on five straight hits!

This one by Freese off the deep part of the left field wall for a double

Freese doubles in a run. 3-0.

Out One

dribbler to Paredes

Is.. is that an out? Yay!

4-0

Infield single off Myers glove

Berkman scored

Looks like Myes is picking up his game

He does not look as tentative as he did on the first 6 batters

My mistake

After about a three minue at bat -Punto singled

Brett Myers

Has checked out…

5-0

Single to left -Punto

Nice bunting there Carp.

That was absolutely pathetic...
I wonder when Chris Carpenter last gave up six runs
Following MLB Gamecast...

and can’t believe all these infield singles…deflections of gloves – crappy way to begin the game…oh well, still got 9 innings to chip away…

Go STROS!

Shuck shoud not be in center for this game
Is Schafer hurt?

Or is this Mills’ idea of ‘looking at guys’ for spring training?

maybe he’s hanging out with Wallace too much

Astros giving Myers about four minutes to regroup fior the second inning
Guess Myers feels since he started the season with a loss he'll end the season with one too
we'll pin that opening day loss on Lyon...

remember Myers went toe-to-toe with doc that first game and Lyon blew that game in the 9th…All downhill from there!

No more Mr. NiceGuy towards Myers.
well we have ed to thank that he will be around for another year
I was wondering this afternoon since this is the final Astros game of the 2011 season

if the game would bwe emblematic of the 2011 season

or if it would set an optimistic tone for the 2012 season

Thank you, Allen Craig?

That was a hittable pitch…

well

I turned on the game yesterday when we were up 5-0 maybe we can come back tonight. Oh wait myers is pitching and Carlos lee is our cleanup hitter.

Lol, just about the same
Wow

I just tuned in and, well the Cards came back from a 5 run deficit yesterday….Astros do it today?

jinx lol
LOL

Sit down, Lance.

Tampa Bay trails Yankees 6-0

They better hope Orioles comback and beat the Red Sox. O’s trail Boston 3-2 in the fifth.

I'm watching game on ESPN2

ESPN commentators remarkably well-prepared to call this game

who's calling it?
Don't know their names

I’ll listen for them

Doug Glanville is the ex-ballplayer color commentator
After my Chem lab which lasted nearly 3 hours after school, I came home and made burgers

Then I turned on the TV and found exactly what my gut feeling told me. Well not exactly, but we’re losing. I think this game specifically nails in the last board on the season which all-around just sucked

How much money do you guys think ed wade will throw at Ryan Madson in free agency?

don’t joke

lol im not the only one thinking it
7 years, $142 million.

maybe for Rollins

If Carl Crawford can get that money...

I suppose Jimmy can as well.

Wow Bogey /facepalm/
E9

Bogusevic looked terrible when that ball clanked off his glove

well that intentional walk worked
Chris Carpenter RBI single

6-0

NO HITTER NO HITTER NO HITTER! Carp has a NO HITTER. hey its worked a few times this season.

Hey look! A NO HITTER!!!!
Carpenter is a DOUCHEBAG!
Molina fits that description more, imo.
Negative

Carpenter has such an ego he’ll yell at a guy that gets mad at himself for not hitting a ball that Carpenter threw….

THIS JUST IN!!!

Brett Myers is now a switch hitter

Hunter Pence threw a runner out at home

in the Phillies -Braves game

#200!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jose Altuve slugged a single to center field
Altuve!!
This is where the Cards hurt the Astros

last night, let’s see if the stros can return the favor.

that's a big negatory
Anyway

Spring training should be interesting. Position battles and starters fighting for rotation spots. And the return of JASON CASTRO. No more Towles or Corporan

unless they decide not to resign Q because he’s out of their price range

Id like for Q to stay one more season and then get rid of him if and when C-Walls is ready

Agree, I’d like another year of Q.

I think he should work with Bud like chavez did with oswalt

True dat!

Between Bourgeois and Schaffer, Martinez and Wallace, Paredes and Johnson, Altuve and Downs, and Harrell Lyles Sosa Happ Myers Cedeno An Rod and all the rest, it should be interesting

Bourn

would have caught that

Another hit to deep center that probably would have been caught by

Shcafer
or Bourgeois

Or Durango
ooh....

Forgot about Durango. He knows how to walk…

So NOW Myers wants to try the knuckleball. He still sucks
Phillies have 2 on, 2 out in the eighth

full count

trailing 3-2

Bases loaded on a walk for Philadephia

Fans excited

Bases were loaded on 2 walks and a HBP
Strike out to end the inning with bases loaded

That was exciting

Brett Wallace pinch hitting

grounds out to end his season.

JB Shuck singled to center
Altuve walked

2 on 2 out

Altuve walked??!!!!
on 4 pitches i believe
I'm going to miss the big elephant after he retires.
HOUSTON — Astros slugger Carlos Lee reiterated Wednesday night what he first said a year ago, hinting that he might retire when his six-year, $100-million contract expires following the 2012 season, citing family reasons. Lee, 35, entered the final game of the season with 94 RBIs.

“I want to spend more time with my kids,” Lee said. "This business, it’s kind of tough to spend more time with the family. People don’t realize that when [the team is home], the kids are at school. When you get up, they’re already gone, and when you come back, they’re sleeping.

“To see your kids Friday, Saturday and Sunday is tough. If I had to really decide now, I’d stay home.”
apparently I don't have a concept of time
Welcome to the reality of having a JOB there Carlos
Carlos Lee is getting 18.5 mil next season

The greater Houston area population is by all accounts between 5-6 million. Lets round that down to 5 mil…. if we could get everyone to donate 3 dollars and 70 cents we could buy him out and he could retire a season early. Sounds good to me.

I would not be against this.

He is not a bad person, but he’s taking up a spot that could be occupied by either Brett Wallace, Matt Downs, or like Timmy suggested, Chris Johnson.

I really do not think CJ's bat will ever be better than below average on the whole

simply because his contact rate and strikeout numbers will always keep him from having a decent OBP… but I have always thought he would make a decent “power bat” off the bench sub for COF/CIF.

Things are getting interesting in Atlanta...

Kimbrel just walked the bases loaded with 1 out; Chase Utley is up to bat, with the Phillies trailling by a run.

Utley sac fly ties the game.
Hunter Pence batting with 2 on 2 outs

walks to load the bases

ninth inning

escaped

Braves will be batting in the bottom of the ninth

long rain delay in Baltimore
OMG

CJ has his pant sleeves rolled up!

Well, at least the bullpen looks good tonight.

W. Lopez: 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 K
L. Harrell: 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K
A. Rodriguez: 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K

Chris Johnson batting

He’s 4 for 8 (now 4 for 9) against Carpenter

Braves in extra innings
Lance Pendleton pitching for Houston
Schafer has had a bad hammy

and Mills took notes all season and now he’ll go back through them.

2outs 1 on for Phils in top of 10th
Lance Pendlesuck gives up a homer
Going to bottom of 10th in ATL 3-3

Its our last inning of Astros baseball until April :(

im going to miss the Astros over the winter, but not Pendleton, he seems like he wants to give up hits.
Last Astros defensive play of the season

Grounder to Clint Barmes who flipped to Jose Altuve for the force out at second.

has anybody been keeping up with jeff suckchino.
16.2 ERA with the Padres in 3 appearances

1.2 IP for Padres. 3 earned runs

poor guy

did the Astros just make 2 outs on 2 pitches?

That vacation in Acapulco can't come soon enough for them, I guess.
Schafer, Altuve go down quickly

2 outs

Bourn singles with one out for ATL
Astros LOST 9-0

When does Spring Training start?

Too soon Joe too soon to even think about it. lol
You're right

So you think teams wil inquire about Brett Myers before the winter meetings?

Would you want Myers on your team?
only 8-0

Sorry about that

I hope the Braves beat Sh*t out of the Cards tommorow.
I have 110% faith they will!! "ITS GONNS HAPPEN BROTHER!!

56-106. 50 games below .500. Its been a painful, horrible season. That being said, I can’t wait till April rolls around.

I was way off at the beginning of the season

I figured we would be 64-98

Bourn on base for Braves
Michael Bourn on first in Braves game

one out

He has three hits (all singles) tonight

take it away Joe!
Full count to Chipper Jones with 2 outs and Bourn still on first
Jones flies out to DEEEEEP CF for out 3
Fly out to the wall on a running catch

Game continues one more inning

Life has no meaning to a dead person
and to some alive peolpe.
And thats the season ladies and gents

MAYBE this ass kicking will motivate these youngs guys to work their asses off in the off season and come back bigger better faster and stronger.

Honestly Paredes, Altuve, and Martinez

could possibly stand to go to AAA if stopgaps (guys who could be traded for minor pieces if they perform) are signed on the cheap.

They all need to work on their approach at the plate… not a single one managed an OBP above .330. Granted it was a small sample.

Same thing with some of our young pitchers, I know we are excited about them being in the majors and all, but some things are easier to work on in the minors.

Ha

JD is in a fedora and hawaiian print shirt

Batting for the Philadephia Phillies witha runner on first and two outs

Hunter Pence

Utley stole second

so IBB Pence

OMG I JUST GOT SOME HUGE CHILLS WATCHIMG THE RAYS GAME!!!! Trailing 7-0
Holy cow

Rays scored six in the eighth and one in the ninth to tie the game

Still batting

Gotta root for a team like that

I bet you some Boston fans will scream the Yankees let the Rays score
WHAT??

That is amazing! GO RAYS!!

Braves go to the 12th

Michael Schwimmer shutting them down. Get the crash cart and break out the paddles.

This is the single greatest night of MLB regular season baseball I've ever witnessed

At 19, I’m no historian, but this is pretty special.

yes it is

except for maybe that game at Minute Maid

I have to say, that Dan Johnson HR reminded me of Ausmus in the NLDS

That was the first Astros game I went to all year, and it’s still the most exciting game I’ve ever been to. Gave me chills.

NYY-TB is still a 7-7 game going into the bottom of the 10th.

Upton, Longoria, and Lobaton coming up for the Rays.

Charlie Manuel

Defender of the MLB

Rays lead off batter walked
How crazy

races go down to the last night and now a couple extra inning games.

Hunter Pence batting with runners on the corners

2 outs

RBI Pence - Infield single

Phillies lead 4-3

And the Braves choke job is complete. Phillies win 4-3 in 13 innings.

Dream the Impossible Nightmare

Braves eliminated from Wild Card Race in 13th inning

Philadephia 4 Atlanta 3

OMG!? EFF THE CARDINALS, I HATE ALL THEM WITH A PASSION EXCEPT DAVID FREESE, Hes from Corpus and I gotts support them.

And now my fav ex stro Bourn is gone and I feel like crap.

Well shoot, looks like the schedule was a huge advantage for the dang cafds
Well shoot, looks like the schedule was a huge advantage for the dang cards
Looking bad in Tampa

Yankees with runners on the corners

no outs

Saved one run

Hard grounder to third. Runner on third started toward home.
Tagged out trying to return to third

One out

Runners on first and second

Strike out for out two
Yankees DON'T score

Ground out to second

Blown save by Papelbon!

RBI double for Nolan Reimold!! Haha

Baltimore TIED the game against Boston

on an RBI double with two outs and 2 strikes on the batter

THE ORIOLES ELIMINATE THE BOSTON RED SOX!!!
Not yet

Rays must win

Aw, that stinks...
not yet, now I feel bad for the Sox, theyre all bummed.
LOL

Nevermind, the Rays clinch it with a win! Walkoff HR, Evan Longoria!!

OH MY GOD
RED SOX LOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Baltimore scored two runs with 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth!

4-3

Baltimore players hopping around like they won the World Series
TAMPA BAYS WIN ON LONGORIA HOMERUN

Rays to the playoffs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dream the Impossible Dream

A comeback for the ages

U.N.B.E.L.I.E.V.A.B.L.E.

Goodness. Crazy crazy

What a night
oh yes, what a night. im shell shocked.

John Kruk is being a bandwagoner tonight.

I'm on the bandwagon

I’m willing to admit it, I want the Rays to go all the way. The did this without Pena, Crawford, and more, and a $41 million payroll. One downside is I can’t imagine Andrew Friedman coming to Houston after this…

your totally right Pat. I think Joe Madden got so lucky tonight with Dan Johnson.
It's so hilarious, because Crawford kept taking pot-shots at the Rays organization...

And now his overpaid butt gets to watch that same organization in the postseason, from the comfort of his luxurious living room.

That was the single greatest 5 minute stretch of baseball I've ever seen in the regular season
